Yay, finally we get out from the Elephant Graveyard! :D

Did you know that elephants replace their teeth six times in their lifetime? When they lose their last teeth, they die. I didn't know that. It's something I learned in Uganda.

I knew that about elephants, but I wonder... If you took really good care of one and only fed it softened foods, how long could it live?

I can answer that. Elephants tend to not live past 60-ish year mark in the wild as that is the point where there teeth can no longer process food. But as zoos can take measures to keep them beyond that point, they can live to be well past that. I don't think I've ever heard a elephant live to be a hundred but I'm sure they could make it to 70something before they finally gave out. :shrug:

If its an elephant GraveYard, how come there was a wildabeest skull?
anyways, love the panel about maternal instinct, and their faces in the last panel! the elephant thing made me tear up, because I watched a Wild-Thornberries episode with an old elephant like that one, that died ;A;

Haha, there are other dead animals too in the Elephant Graveyard. You can see many different skulls in the "Be Prepared" scene.
